Ah, the Ditty Bag.  The Ditty Bag was usually a small cotton bag, issued in boot camp, that

contained some of the items essential for the well being of the sailor.  Items such as

toothpaste, toothbrush, soap dish, letter writing materials, etc., were usually found in the

Ditty Bag.  We’ll call this page the Ditty Bag and we’ll post some of the historical documents

plus some odds and ends relating to TCH during her 20 plus years of service.  Items such as

Commissioning Books, cruise family grams, Change of Command brochures and the like;

items that were essential to the life and history of TCH.  If you can get your cruise books

scanned to PDF file, we’ll post them too!  If you have something you’d like to post, let us know.
